Last round of chemo

Last round of chemo

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

Money raised as of October 7, 2013 $52,335. Thank you all for your continued support.

My story begins on September 21st 2012, the day I found a large mass encompassing my mesentery artery.  Since then I have been to 4 hospitals, seen 4 medical oncologists, lost a pregnancy, had 2 needle biopsies, 6 CT Scans, and 6 rounds of chemo.  Sadly, I'm left with a tumor roughly one inch smaller and a lot less hair on my head.

I originally thought my battle would be over once chemo was done, but I've now realized my battle is truly just beginning…

Desmoid Tumors are very rare, but still have the potential of being as deadly to patients as cancer.  Unfortunately, many patients go months and sometimes years before they are properly diagnosed or die from complications caused by Desmoids.

After numerous oncologists appointments, I was finally diagnosed by MD Anderson as having an extremely aggressive Desmoid Tumor in my intra-abdominal area that is inoperable due to the major artery it encompasses... and this is where I need your help.

In order for me to receive the best possible treatment, I need the help of specialized doctors at MD Anderson and the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation (DTRF) to find solutions and necessary medicines to cure this rare but deadly disease.

I'm excited to announce that the DTRF posted on June 6, 2013, that they are in need of $300,000 in funding to begin such research.  All research done on Desmoid Tumors will benefit the masses suffering from aggressively growing cancerous tumors as well.  I thank you in advance for your support and donation to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.
